Hello, I am new to this forum, so any advice someone can provide would be very appreciated.
I have recently transfered by Broadband ISP from Sky to BT, as BT sales team (and the broadband checker) told me I could get estimated 15mbps download speed on my phone line as opposed to 4.5-5mbps Sky was giving me on the best days.
I am currently coming to an end of the 10 day testing period - finishing on 20 Aug. Looking at my ADSL Stats and some of the related posts on this forum, I think there is a way to improve what BT is giving me at the moment:

For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.6 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.

Please advise. I feel that my IP Profile has been stuck at 3mbps - Can this be changed? Or should I just wait for 2-3 more days in a hope that something magic will happen by default?

Because of your distance from the exchange, the maximum connection speed will never be faster than 4384Kbs on ADSL max, and 4512Kbs on ADSL2.
There is some potential for your existing connection to reach that speed, as there is some spare noise margin.
How is your home hub connected to your phone line?
My Home Hub 3 is connected to the main (and only) phone socket in my flat, using of course one of the microfilters provided by BT. The stats I provided are based on the Ethernet connection my iMAC has with HH 3.
Why do you think BT would quote me a double-digit estimated speed when I was looking to leave Sky for more speed?
where did you get the speed quote try this link I suspect it could have been a data base error http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/ADSLChecker.TelephoneNumberOutput

While waiting for Infinity to arrive, does it make sense to contact BT Tech Support asking to reset my IP Profile or Noise Margin, in order to get a bit more speed, at least in line why Sky was giving me?
Your Ip Profile is set by your connection speed not the other way round you could ask the forum mod team to reset your noise margin please avoid the help line once the mod team are contacted as is causes confusion

Hi, just to give you an update on my situation. The mod team reset my Niose Margin, and the speed has improved the best I can possible hope for at this time (while waiting for the miracle called Infinity)
