Moved into a rented property and our broadband was activated on May 9th.. Since then our IP Profile has been stuck on 2mbps as verified by the BT speed tester. The sync however is a touch below 8mbps. Here are the stats:
Downstream: 7.938 Mbps
Upstream: 448 Kbps
Modulation: G.992.1 Annex A
Latency type: Fast
Noise margin (Down/Up): 9.8 dB / 25.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up): 31.3 dB / 17.0 dB
Output power (Down/Up): 19.9 dBm / 12.5 dBm
Should these stats deserve a higher IP profile? I believe the protocol is to contact the mods so the line can be reset, but I was just hoping for some reassurance..

Hi Providing you have greater than 3days stable connection I suggest you contact the forum mods they should be able to get your Ip Profile reset for you this is a link to them
they normally reply by email or phone directly to you within 3 working days
They are a UK based BT specialist team who have a good record at getting problems solved
For reassurance, I had exactly the same problem and emailed the Mods and Jon suggested. They replied within 3-4 days via email and said they could fully see the problem and reset the line for me, they were quick responding from that point and was resolved with no issues.
Just post all your info in this thread ie hub stats and speed test results and they'll sort it out for you.
Yes, replied direct back to the email they sent me, on 3 occasions and got a quick response (within 24hrs).
Thanks very much for that Chris. Have contacted the mods and am eagerly awaiting their reply 🙂 Also, thanks to John for your post.
just run btpeedtester every so often just to check as sometimes the mods just arrange to get the profile kicked into action
Well the mods got back to me as promised and the IP Profile reset was meant to happen over the weekend. Unfortunately the Homehub went wrong on Saturday so I may have very well missed the boat for the reset. Have since replaced the router with a better model which is showing these stats:
Attenuation doesn't seem as good, but never mind. Will wait to hear back from the mods again.. Speaking of which, thanks to Dean of BTCare for getting back to me.
run btspeedtester not beta version and post the results please
