I have got into the habit of running a BT speedtest at [http://www.speedtester.bt.com/] once a week or so - probably unnecessary I know but at least I think I might be forewarned of IP profile drops and such...
Anyway.. just run one this morning and was surprised to see my IP profile has gone up from 77.43 to 87.5
Download speed is also showing a slight increase.
I thought Infinity had a maximum of circa 80Mbps - in which case how come my profile is so much higher? Has there been some sort of covert upgrade done?
Not complaining mind you - just curious.....
Was a post last week that someone achieved over 80Mbps on their IP profile, maybe they're doing some more tests. Not to sure, hopefully someone can answer your question. 🙂
Just checked mine and it now reads: IP Profile for your line is - 87.5 Mbps
Still IP Profile for your line is - 77.43 Mbps
On a reasonably short line here.
Maybe your profile will change over the next few days
Are you stil synced at around 80meg? This all doesn't make sense lol
I don't have access to my line stats, so I don't know what the sync rate is
Since the beginning of September my profile has gone from a consistent 64Mbps to a consistent 69Mbps (Line length 370m to cab).
Maybe they have updated the firmware on the VDSL2 modems in the cabinets and they are performing better than before so they have added higher profiles?
Isn't the VDSL profile used (17a?) theoretically capable of up to 100Mbps?
I was the bloke who posted that his IP Profile was 83.63 Mbps but I've still not found out why.
Shall keep an eye on this thred in the hope all will be revealed in time!
