Hi folks,
I would like to remove my BT HH6 from my network however I cannot get IPTV channels to work.
Here is what I have tried:
BT HH6 --> Netgear R7000 (IPTV channels work)
Netgear DM200 --> Netgear R7000 (IPTV Channels do not work)
Linksys X6200 (AC750) --> Netgear R7000 (IPTV Channels do not work)
I know my R7000 is configured correctly, and the Netgear DM200 has a function to support IPTV yet I cannot get it to work.
When I access the GUI of the DM200, I get a public IP address but no IP address for "PTV IP Address"
I have also tried to clone the MAC address of the BT HH6 onto the DM200 and X6200 but no joy.
Can anyone help me with this please?
Hi Skappy70..
Yes I did see that post, although I don't want to buy another powerful router as that's what my R7000 is for.
The Netgear DM200 does have a profile for IPTV when you set it up, so surely that should support it, no?
You need a fibre modem to connect to the VDSL before your R7000
You can buy an Huawei or ECI on ebay for few quids. The choice will depend on your cabinet make
If instead you want to use your netgear DM200 you need to set it up in bridge mode only with the router connecting via PPOE
Hi Interceptor121
the DM200 supports VDSL and I have full infitnity speed with it.
Setup currently as I type this is:
BT Inifity Wall Socket --> DM200 --> R7000
I was looking to avoid buying a BT Openreach Modem
The only thing that does not work are IPTV Channels
You need to find the setting for bridge mode in the DM200 otherwise IPTV won't work
Hi
Turning the DM200 into a Bridge (modem only) is possible, but when I do I can't get connected to my BT Inifinity service.
Due to that, it doesn't pass traffic across to the R7000.
Grrrrrr 😞
Thansk for the advise
I don't really want to put my R7000 in bridge mode and I like the fact the DM200 is on a completely different IP/Subnet range compared to my internal network.
I suspect that's why you said it would be a bad idea to turn my R7000 into bridge mode.
