If you're going to have terrible DNS servers, at least let me change them.

Subject says it all. Have no end of trouble with bts dns servers. Currently using my phone and I'm having to run a vpn just to post this.

It's becoming an almost daily occurrence now and just isn't acceptable.

Oh, and the issue is then that the bt home hub 5 doesn't let you manually set dns servers.

Welcome to this forum.

To prove whether its a DNS issue, have you tried manually setting different DNS servers on your devices?

Ah right okay. Yeah I tried google public dns on my pc and it works fine. Problem is that I can't set the dns servers on my phone which I use with a chromecast to watch netflix. The phone works fine if I use a vpn, but then it won't detect the chromecast.

I've just resorted to using a raspberry pi as a dhcp server and turned the homehubs internal one off.

Thank you. The VPN tip has worked a treat. Didn't think of doing that.
