In customer service hell

Please can someone help me. BT took my set-up fee twice in error. I'm banging my head against a brick wall talking to the customer service line.  I want the money back and I don't want to wait 40 days for BT to process me a bill. They are refusing to do more than this. 

 

I've spent a long time on the phone getting nowhere with this. Spoken to 4 different people who've all misadvised.

a) First person told me the money would not be taken

b) Second person told me sorry the money's been taken but you'll be refunded within a week

c) Third person said sorry no one has dealt with this but I'll do it now and you'll have money back in 5 days

d) Fourth person said sorry can't give you money back. You need to wait 40 days.

 

Really, the customer service is appalling. Can anyone help?
