Inbox shows empty on BT account on laptop not android

Hi, I have little technical knowledge but for a while my BT e mails wont show on my laptop and android device at the same time. Any unread mail will come through on my laptop but as soon as I search for new e mails on my android, it will dissappear from the laptop.

Also I have been having trouble sending to a few e mail addresses as they bounce back with a 554   5.7.1 DMARC policy response. I've tried google but like I say I need the advice explained in simple terms please!

Re: Inbox shows empty on BT account on laptop not android

It sounds like your Android device's email app is set up as a POP3 account and it has been set to delete emails from the BT server after they have been downloaded to the device. This means that they are no longer on the BT system and as such are no longer available to read when you log onto your BTMail account on your laptop.

You need to go into the Android device's email apps settings and change the settings to "never to delete from inbox".

Thanks for your reply. My email is set up as IMAP & I can't see an option to tick to not delete. The only info in settings is this:

If your email account is set up as an IMAP account the message I posted is not relevant because that was if the account was set up as a POP3 account.

You do not get the option not to delete on an IMAP account because IMAP replicates/synchronises with what is on the BT servers. If you delete an email on your Android device it will be deleted from your laptop and vice versa.
