Incoming calls ring up to 15 times before it connects to our phone, why?

Hello, we frequently get people calling us saying 'we thought you were out' because their phone rings up to 15 times before we answer, even though we pick up with in two rings of hearing it ring. Does anyone one else have this problem or know why it happens, even better is there a sollution to it?

If your outgoing calls are fine, its probably an exchange fault. You can try ringing your number from a mobile and see what happens.

If you can hear it ringing out, and your phone does not ring, then pick up your phone and see if stops. If it does, then it most likely a faulty line card in the exchange which is not providing the ringing voltage.
