My wife's daughter in Canada has been attempting to call us using her Canadian "Calling Card", but recently this cannot connect to us. The message she receives is " welcome to 1572 the person has chosen not to receive these calls " or words to that effect.
BT has verified that we have no call barring precautions in place that would affect these incoming calls.
Can anyone advise what the likely cause may be? We suspect, obviously, that the fault is likely to be at the Canadian end but any suggestions would be appreciated; we are anxious to be able to receive these incoming calls, bearing in mind current circumstances!
Hello. Did you ever find a solution for this? I live in Canada and can no longer connect with my family in England using their landlines as it always defaults to the "welcome to 1572" message. Thanks!
Hello Donna,
Not really, unfortunately. The only answer appeared to be to completely remove Call Barring from the services we had.
Not an ideal way of dealing with the problem, but a temporary solution for us.
Hope you have more luck!
Regards.
Ian

Hi @DonnaT ,
Do you have BT Call Protect enabled ? If so, do you have international calls blocked ?
@pompey1898 I'm based in Canada and trying to call English landlines (Mum and Brother). My Mum has been on the phone with various BT engineers in England who are apparently"baffled" and are blaming it on the Canadian phone system. Nothing has changed from a Canadian perspective - it's something to do with the 1572 system. She's been through all of the steps laid out to allow my calling card number to be accepted (I've left a message, she's selected Option 4, etc, etc). Thanks.
@Ianlaw My Mum turned it off for a day so I could call the landline and she could make a note of the calling card number that was being allowed through. She turned it back on and the next time I was able to get through - but that was the only time. Every time after that it's gone straight to "Welcome to 1572" and she hadn't made any changes to her call preferences whatsoever. It's very frustrating.
Hi @DonnaT ,
Can you, or get your Mum to, post a screen shot of her BT Call Protect settings in order to see if any help can be offered to resolve this issue ?
It should look like this but obviously with her setting, not mine as I block everything.
