Hi all,
I had Infinity II installed about three weeks ago and when the technician was here it tested on BT's speed checker at 55Mb/s down, 17Mb/s up. After getting about 1.8Mb/s connection between home and BT before Infinity II, this was stunning! However, within a couple of days my download speed had dropped off to about 1Mb/s, so slower than it was before, and the upload speed was mirroring that quite closely. I did the troubleshooting and rebooted the shiny new homehub5 (homehub 4 before Infinity) and speeds increased again to about 48Mb/s down, 16Mb/s up. Within hours it had dropped back again to pitiful levels and if I leave it for 24 hours then it's pretty much unusable.
Just now ...
after I rebooted the hub about seven hours ago.
The connection speed between hub and BT has been dropping steadily. I'm guessing that because I have to reboot the homehub to get decent speeds for a while, the BT kit is assuming my line's unstable and is dropping the speed accordingly. Right now the hub's reporting 48Mb/s connection to BT, it was closer to 57Mb/s when it was installed.
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Bill

That's what I posted. Look at the speedtest graphic in the original post. I can reboot the router and run it again to show 46Mb/s down, 15Mb/s up.
Cheers,
Bill
Try turning off smart wireless then split the 2.4 and 5ghz networks giving each there selected channel number checking with a wifi analyser the best free channels. You can use same password. You can then log into both networks assuming your devices are caoable of the 5ghz network
many devices have a probkem with the 2 networks combined
2.4/5 already split, named differently, different passwords, no smart wifi, and I've worked my way through every channel over the last five days.

So these stats
6. Data Rate: 16560 / 49517
7. Maximum Data Rate: 14153 / 49513
8. Noise Margin: 4.4 / 5.6
are when you're seeing 1 or 2 Mbps on the speed test?
