Oh, and I missed the second link, but I get the same issue with either an ECI or Huawei modem as I have both.

Hi

I belive reading Rays helpful post its just the  HG612 ( Locked Version) that has the issue.

 

However Unlocked HG612 are not affected 🙂

I think we may be on the right track though. I am going to try it with a Draytek 2860 this evening which has a VDSL modem built into it so I can take out the open reach modem from the equation completely.

IPSec VPN works fine here

Success.

 

Binned the BT modem and HH and replaced with a brand spanking new Draytek 2860. Configured the VDSL settings correctly and bingo everything connected. Now have a stable IPSEC connection (for the last 2 hours!!!) and everything is running as before.

 

So, looks like the modem firmware issue is still an issue.

Update this morning - VPN connection stayed up with no drop outs for 12 hours. I am calling this a success
