do you know what your ip profile is?
goto http://speedtester.bt.com/ and take the 'ADSL and Fibre Diagnostics' test.
Or, a bit quicker but less official, goto http://windows.mouselike.org/be/?DoAction=BrasChecker
Download speedachieved during the test was - 35.14 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 16 Mbps-38.72 Mbps .
IP Profile for your line is - 38.72 Mbps
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 8.41Mbps
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 10 Mbps
I was watchi i player at the time but i do achieve the max of 38.79 no problems at all.
At 23:59 on 08/08/2012 you had used 34.95 GB of your unlimited usage allowance.
Your average monthly usage is 81.84 GB.
If im on Infinity one then why does above say otherwise?
So ive got Infinrity 2 Usage allawance and Infinity 1 speed. Surely if BT upgraded their Package i should be upgraded automatically regardless of when i had infinity installed?
So dos that mean now because 76mb werent available at the time of me signing up im not goingt o get 76mb speed that they are now advertising?
When Infinity first came out these were the basic packages:-
up to 38mbit down
2mb up (capped)
40gb monthly usage
up to 38mbit down
up to 10mb up
When upgrading to Infinity2 any documentation may still say "Option x" but this won't tell you if you are actually on Infinity2. Sometimes it does take the "system" a while to catch up. Worse case scenario is that you have to have an engineer come out and check the line and ensure that "someone" resets the system to recognise your (hopefully) faster speeds.
Hello Ptan, thanks for the message,
I have always had Infinity 2 ive nefer been infinity 1 and then upgraded to infinity 2. When i joined BT i signed up straight to Infinity 2 from the gecko.
@Topman I would like to ask you a couple of questions if that is alright,
1. Did you sign up to Infinity before April 2012?
2. Did you ask BT for the Infinity2 upgrade?
The only reason I ask the above is: If you got Infinity before April then you would be on Infinity option 2 not Infinity 2, there is a difference between the two. If you were on Infinity option 2 then you have to ask BT for the higher speed, it is not an automatic upgrade.
Yes i phoned them and they said i cant get 76mb as my line dont support it. I think that is aload of bull tbh.
