I have recently upgraded to the Infinity 2 package (from Infinity 1) and although my bill reflects I now have this packgage, my speed does not. I have spoken to tech support who have informed me they are unable to upgrade me due to the estimated max speed on my line (which is highly incorrect and actually HALF of the speed/throughput I actually get.)
The current Downstream BRAS rate is: 38.71 Mbps
The current Upstream BRAS rate is: 10 Mbps
The above shows the profile applied to my line and I easily get throughput of 37+ Mbps which no fluctuation.
Does anyone have any suggestions on best steps to take next? Currently I'm very much getting a "computer says no" attitude and will be taking my business elsewhere if nothing changes.
They should put you on Infinity2 if you pay. When they do, your upstream profile will show 20Mpbs. Whether your speeds increase or not is another matter, but as you say it looks as if they might well.
Probably best to contact the mods to get them to sort it. at: http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951 . But be aware they take 3 working days to reply: sometimes more if busy.
Some people like me, cannot get 76/19 for some reason, maybe you are one of those as well. You can still be on option 2 for the unlimited package but your speeds still stay at 40/10. Like @sjtp says your upload profile will go to 20mbps at the end instead of saying 10mbps at the end on a disagnostic check!.
Sure but do we know what that "some reason" is? I'm not bothered if I don't get the full 76/19, neither do I expect it. Just that if I can squeeze a few extra meg out of the line, I'd like to have it! Awfully frustrating!
