I am so fed up with my connection dropping several times a day, most days.
This is ridiculous. No matter how many times I contact BT about it nothing ever happens. I keep being told to leave it up for several days to stabilize BUT IT WILL NOT STAY UP FOR MORE THAN A DAY, FFS!
The most recent example from my logs:
2016-01-08 11:42:12 kernel: timeout(2 secs): cmd=8be1 no response
2016-01-08 11:51:13 kernel: timeout(2 secs): cmd=8be1 no response
2016-01-08 11:54:50 kernel: timeout(2 secs): cmd=8be1 no response
2016-01-08 11:55:26 kernel: timeout(2 secs): cmd=8be1 no response

2016-01-08 12:00:44 kernel: tc3262_ptm_close
2016-01-08 12:00:44 syslog: Modem hangup
2016-01-08 12:00:44 syslog: Connect time 2052.5 minutes.
2016-01-08 12:00:44 syslog: Sent 478840254 bytes, received 1103118882 bytes.
2016-01-08 12:00:44 syslog: Connection terminated.
2016-01-08 12:00:44 syslog: LCP down.
2016-01-08 12:00:44 syslog: Terminating on signal 15
But WHY? SNR looks good right now at 6.0dB but I've often seen it drop to around 4dB.
Just want to sort out why my connection can't last an entire day without dropping. Very frustrating when I work at home.
can you post the stats from your router please
are you currenbtly using the test socket with a filter to see if that helps your connection especially if you have extension sockets
