Infinity Upload Speed suddenly dropped

Go to solution

Hi,

After having an upload speed on infinity of between 6mb and 7mb since is it was installed, it has suddenly dropped to 1mb. It has been faulted with BT via the speedtester but that has come back saying fixed, but it is not.

My BT Hub6 gives me:

Capture.PNGand my ASUS Router:

Capture.JPGBT Speed checker gives:

Capture.JPG

But according to BT Checker I should get the following:

Checker.PNG

Why am I not and why will BT not do anything about it? 1mb is all but unusable for uploading data, I could get a faster speed on ADSL!!

Regards,

Stephen Ord

Firstly, you wouldn't get a faster upload on ADSL.

Have you tried dialling 17070 from your landline and running the quiet line test?

Re: Infinity Upload Speed suddenly dropped

Hi,

Yes, I've done a quiet line test and that seems OK. Have also plugged direct into my master socket via a filter and that gave the same results, although not sure how long I would have to leave it for it to make any difference. Couldn't leave it for too long as it left the rest of the house without a phone.

Regards,

Stephen

P.S had my tongue in cheek with the ADSL comment. Smiley Happy

If the sync speed doesn't increase in the test socket, you need an engineer. Simple as that.

Thanks Webby, how do I get an engineer as BT have closed the fault saying 1mb is OK?

I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.
They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are based in the UK.

You will probably be expected to plug a BT Home hub in, as BT do not support other routers, as it may be a router incompatibility.

Stephen

It would be worth trying, to prove the issue, as you are likely to be asked about it.

Post the info from this link.

Internal wiring can also affect upload performance.

I know you said you had tried the master socket, but could you try connecting things up like this.
