Infinity, Vision and Airport Extreme

Hi all. I've managed to get my Airport Extreme up and running in unison with Infinity but I still have the Home Hub 3 plugged in (with wireless turned off) so that I can run BT Vision. Is there a way I can use the Airport to run Vision and remove the Home Hub entirely?

I tried simply plugging the OpenReach modem directly into the Airport but that didn't work. I'd imagine I need to monkey around with some settings but, not being technically minded, I have no idea how to do that.

Re: Infinity, Vision and Airport Extreme

Hi, long time Mac user here.

1   Get rid of the HH3

2   Connect the AE to the OpenReach Modem via its WAN port.

3   Set up the AE.

4   Connect the Vision box to the AE in the same way you currently do with the HH3, ie: Ethernet cable or PowerLine adaptors.

"It just works!"

(Well, it does for me and the WiFi is stunningly better than the HH3).

Yeah, that's what I tried but the BT vision box ceased connecting. I may give it another go. Is there a 'special' way to set up the Airport?

Re: Infinity, Vision and Airport Extreme

You may have to reboot the vision box so it re-acquires an Ethernet address from the DHCP server in the AE.
