Re: Infinity and gaming (again!)

How do I do a tracert? Bt told me I was capped at peak hrs which could be a reason for my lag. They moved me to totally unlimited now.

Re: Infinity and gaming (again!)

I recently have infinity installed and currently 75 d/l and 17/up.  I play black ops 2 on xbox and i am having the same probs.  I pull host nearly every game and its like everyone else is a second faster than me.  I know about the lag comp, but surely it shouldnt be this bad?  No lag, just the fact everyone seems to have an avantage over me.

Hi jonew,

To do a tracert click on start in windows.

then go to search programs and files.

type in cmd and then select it.

you will be presented will a small black box with typing cursor,

the type "tracert bbc.co.uk" or which ever site your checking

you should get a result like so.

Re: Infinity and gaming (again!)

Anything to report David?

It may not be BT's fault but it certainly wasn't this bad on my old AOL's ADSL connection.

Re: Infinity and gaming (again!)

as far as im aware you cant run a accurate tracert on xbox and pointless using the results off pc or laptop - infinity has deffinatly given me the worse online lagging i have ever experianced sometimes even impossible to play - talking 5 seconds + time to empty a magazine n reload while shooting someone in the back n still they have time to smoke a cig before dropping you by shooting out their elbow --- oh ive been gaming years , set up is wired n deinterleaved ( reccomended by BT expert ? [ LOL ] to combat online lag ) but no difference , infact probably worse ... the COD blkops2 options menu gives you connection stats mine are - 10000kbs / we believe this is max as we havent found anyone in our clan or friends higher ... now there are some lettters there too - ABCDE n so on , now some differ from other peoples just wondered if this could be why i lag more than my friends .

go to options on blkop2

press back button on controller n you should see

connectivity info     ABCDEFGHIJ-LMN-P-R

nat type                OPEN

bandwith              10000kbps

geographic region   35

connection type     wired

Re: Infinity and gaming (again!)

@ cockney, my Black Ops 2 stats are the same as yours.

DaviDM, did you ask us to do a tracert for any particular reason, just for a giggle maybe? Its been nearly 2 weeks since you requested them and you haven't posted your thoughts....can you see how things like this can start to annoy people. You expect this sort of treatment from telephone support (lets be honest, they're pretty **bleep** poor) but it keeps being said that the forum mods are good at what they do, at the moment I'm not so sure.

Re: Infinity and gaming (again!)

Well thanks DavidM (or any other forum mod who could've taken this over) you've all been most helpfulSmiley Frustrated.

**bleep**ing Hell, being left hanging is more annoying than the original problem!

WHY ASK FOR SOMETHING THEN DO NOTHING WITH IT? SOMEONE COULD AT LEAST KEEP US INFORMED OF WHAT YOU MAY OR MAY NOT OF FOUND IN THE TRACERT RESULTS THAT YOU ASKED FOR 2 **bleep**ING WEEKS AGO!

Not only is it unprofessional, it's also rude!

Rant over!
