I am having serious issues at the moment. I ordererd the new HH4 about 4.30p.m. today and now it seems my Infinity connection has gone mad!. I have tried to restart my equipment a few times but no difference, also every time I restart the equipment it gives me an unusual IP address that starts with 109. instead of the 86., it normally gives but I cannot get it back. I have never had issues like this until now. Has it got something to do with ordering the new Home Hub 4 which arrives this Thursday?:-
Hi John, thanks for the reply,
I have done a restart on the Openreach box (hold in for 5 seconds), turn on and off and done a normal retstart on the HH3 as well (several times). The new IP addresses are all over the place and I think this is the problem, it never comes up with 86. anymore, it always now either 109., 81., 80., and so on. 😞 Getting very frustrating!. Everything was fine I did a recent check before ordering the HH4 but after about a couple of hrs., so on ordering the new HH4, it started doing it.
Just done a restart and its back to normal now all green on disagnostic check, the IP now starts with 81., but works OK!. Weird, something must of been a foot!. 🙂
@legitimise_sailing. If your IP address does not start with 86., it means there is a problem somewhere down the line. Usually when mine starts with anything other than 86.,in my area code, it gives me a problem with my Infinity connection. I dont know why?, but it does!. 😉
it does not matter what the ip address starts with, they are all blocks of ips that are assigned to bt to use, i sometimes get an 86 , other times 31 or 109, it makes no difference
