Just as a comparison, i have managed to pry my daughters laptop off her, which is a 6 week old Dell, and conduct a wired by ethernet cable BT speedtest and there is little difference to the results from my previous wireless speedtests.
Little difference as in virtually the same results tested wired or wireless - around 16Mbps.
Just power-cycled my equipment, as advised on the BT speedtest instructions, then run a speedtest - lo and behold back to approx 20Mbps, although it reports my ip profile/max achievable speed as 16.57Mbps??
Still shows a red line and the acceptable speed results appear 'backwards'??
Here we go again - back to a big red line on the speedtest showing approx 15Mbps.
How much longer are we going to go round and round with reboot HH speeds return back to 20Mbps, 2 weeks later speed drops to 15Mbps, reboot HH again speed reverts back to 20Mbps??
Surely that cant be right??
Help. I'm fed up with it.
They (BT) ask for a tap 3 test - yeh right, as if anyone can get that to work.
Well since the hub rebooted a while back i've been enjoying 21Mbps and wireless pings of 15ms, all was going well until i noticed something odd whilst playing BF4.
Couple of tests and, oh dear, packet loss and no upload speed.
Well after things going back to normal, with 20 Mbps speeds and sub 20ms pings, for a few weeks my speedtest is reporting a big red line again.
Typical speedtest when things are 'normal'-
