Infinity speed dropped from 63m to 6m

My normal speed has been around 63M, this morning, on BT's speed checker it showed 5.94M. I followed on to the further diagnostics option, then the 3rd test with the different sign-in which gave results of 0.61M download and 0.01M upload, it advised contacting the ISP.

Went on to BT.com, and its diagnostics showed 65.4M from the exchange but 14.7m betwee the home and the computer!!

It advised restarting the modem, then the hub 3a. this changed the results to 64.3M from the exchange and 18.8 to the computer.

I am not convinced about the reality of these BT.com figures.

I am reluctant to get involved with the script readers in India, are there any other support options?

Re: Infinity speed dropped from 63m to 6m

If this has just happened it may be that some work has been getting done at the exchange or there has been problems elsewhere. I would hold of till later then recheck.

You can rest the homehub as often as you want but don't keep resetting the Openreach modem as it may be seen as a line fault and the DLM (Dynamic Line Management) at the exchange will lower you speed.
