Infinity1 new contract said "Up to 76Mb" - how long before it changes from 52Mb to 76Mb ?

On 19 December I took up BT's "Thank you" deal which was to recontract for 18 Months on Infinity1 at up to 76Mb download and 19Mb upload. This was for an 18 month contract instead of my previous 12 and the price was unchanged.

The order was flagged as "complete" on 20 Dec but the Data Rate on my HH5 Helpdesk page still remains at 9995 / 54995 as it always has been during the previous 52Mb contract. Am I right in assuming that this will cap my connection at 52Mb/10Mb ? If so how does the Data Rate get changed ?

Other Helpdesk info is:

4. Board version: BT Hub 5A
5. DSL uptime: 7 days, 23:53:09
6. Data rate: 9995 / 54995
7. Maximum data rate: 26740 / 81604
8. Noise margin: 16.2 / 13.5
9. Line attenuation: 9.5 / 11.3
10. Signal attenuation: 9.4 / 11.3

Also on The MyBT Package details page it still says "Up to 52Mb".

The BT speed estimate says that my line will support a download speed 74Mb to 80Mb, minimum speed 67Mb.

Will my profile get changed automatically, if so how long should it take ?

Thanks for any help.

You are getting the maximum speed for Infinity 1, which is what you said your deal was for.

Thank you for your fast reply.

Are you saying that an Infinity1 contract will never deliver over 52Mb ? If so why does BT offer an Infinity1 contract that says "Up to 76Mb" ?

It sounds to me like an error, but lets see what a moderator has to say.

Thanks for your post.

In my case it was a "Personalised broadband offer" which offered "Unlimited Infinity 1 Up to 76Mb"

Did you get the same screen displayed as @shamus1 did?
