This settling you talk of is that over and above the 10 days normally quoted as I'm way past the 10 days now as it was transfered to infinity2 on the 24th April. so it looks as though many have been offered Infinity 2 speeds with little or no hope of actually reaching these speeds and had to accept a new 18 month contract on the chance we could reach these speeds, hardly seems fare !
Further to my previous post. I have got really great help from India today, even though the engineer said everything was ok, India Tech. are not happy and have been doing tests with me. They have now arranged for one of their specialist engineers to come to me next Wednesday. He has been given special instructions by India Tech to do more investigations inside and outside and also further testing on equipment.
Hi Guys I recently upgraded from fixed rate 512kb BB to Infinity (FTTC) the rate I would get was estimated as 16.5mbps D/L & 3.5mbps U/L, where the confusion is for me with these figures is, I actually get 18.45mbps D/L but only a pathetic 1.03mbps U/L??
Based on the estimated speed given by BT, I would have thought my U/L would have been 'slightly' better than the estimate, as the D/L was 'better' than estimated??
This seems a bit odd, data goes one-way @18.45mbps but only 1.03mbps the other way? is this a BT 'preset' low ratio?
An 18 to 1 ratio seems a bit wierd, as even my 'old' BB had a ratio of about 2 to 1.
But, on the whole, I'm very happy with the massive BT increase on D/L speed from the old BB, just a bit confused on the U/L?
tiger-tattoo. I couldn't agree more. I was switched to Infinity2 on 17/4 but, to date, nothing has changed. I had 33/6 on Infinity1 and there it has stayed. Like other correspondents, I have no problem with the speed that I'm getting, only that I feel conned into signing up for another 18-month contract with BT.
I logged the issue with support on 26/4 and , while they are always friendly and say that my issues are being investigated, no resolution is in sight. An Openreach engineer (the Supervisor for my area) was sent out to me last week and he confirmed that there is nothing wrong with my line, which passed all tests. I talked to BT Support again yesterday who then contacted the Customer Options Team. Their response was that I am getting a 47/11 service at the moment! Interestingly, these are the same speeds that the BT Performance Predictor expects my line to achieve! And so it goes on. The latest thing support is trying is an SNR reset of the line but, as ever, nothing changes. I will be passing this post on the mods for their comments/advice. Next step, a letter to Ian Livingstone....?
