Installing a new handset on an existing landline

Go to solution

Hi, I'm based in Oz and am enquiring on behalf of my Mum, who's UK-based and a BT customer. Her current landline handset is on the blink. I got her a replacement but she's nervous about installing it. What's the process to get her new handset installed. I'm  considering airtasker but would much rather a BT professional did the job. Thanks in advance, Marcus.

As imjolly says, phones in the UK are fitted with a plug, so just grip the side of the plug, depressing the plastic lever against the side of the plug and gently pull the plug out of the socket.

Plug the new phone into the socket, there is a shutter on the sochet that gets pushed up by the top edge of the plug as you insert it, can be a bit fiddly
