Interleaving

Go to solution

Is there a way to check if BT are applying interleaving and also how much effect DLM is having on my line?

Cheers

Re: Interleaving

You need a modem that will give your full line stats. The OR modem is usually locked and the HH5 gives only the bare minimum.

You can hazard a guess from the latency of your ping to the remote gateway.

I have my huawei modem unlocked.  What stats should I be looking at? My ping on the bt speedtest is around 40-60ms

If you use DSLstats, that will tell you in the bottom RH corner of the screen.

Alternatively if you Telnet into the modem and issue the following command:
xdslcmd info --stats
You will see Interleaving depth given as 😧
😧 1 1 means depth 1, no interleaving.
Also there won't be any FECs counted.

Re: Interleaving

I'm a bit confused,  I've read on one forum that interleaving on downstream is 1-64 and upstream is 1-8 but I've also read posts on this forum of users claiming to have interleaving levels that are in the hundreds.

Can someone point me to a reliable source of information on this please.

Re: Interleaving

Am I right in thinking that at only 19 the interleaving on my downstream is no concern but the amount applied to the upstream is at its max?
