Intermittent lack of response to remote

Hi

 

I have a fairly new BT YV box (Humax DTR-T2100) which intermittently doesn't seem to register remote key presses - it misses about 1 out of 5 approx. It's most noticeable on the Guide when using the direction keys but it happens with other keys too.

I've changed the batteries, and even tried out a One For All remote as a replacement but the problem remains, so it looks like it's a problem with the box.

 

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Hi

 

Sounds corny but have you cleaned the infrared emmiter & receiever and replaced the batteries?

 

After that i would have thought a call to the help desk was your next option.

l had the plastic film on the YV box so I removed that - no difference. I'm guessing the film would have prevented any dirt on the receiver. As before I've replaced the batteries and also tried a universal remote with no change, so it looks like the helpdesk is next.

My tip (for what it's worth) would be to be sure that you do not have direct sunlight hitting the face of the box as that can interfere with remote control signal.

Tx for the tip, I've made sure of that.

I've also done a Software reset and Factory Reset - no difference.

BT say that they can't help me as I didn't purchase the box through them, so I went ot Youview and they've put me on to Humax.
