My broadband has been playing up fro about 3 months now. I've had 2 line faults in this time also. The problem is I have bt vision, Love Film, and my music comes through Sonos. It's so slow now i cant even play music through my Sonos via Napster, when i try to watch a movie on love film it keeps buffering. Phone lines ok. This has been going on for 3 months off and on. i have phoned bt but keep getting india and they seem very keen to blame the filters. I phoned them again tonight and she went throught the same things again then she said she would hang up and phone back when she'd investigated more and done more lines checks, this was more than 2 hours ago. I used to brag to my friends how good bt was now i am begining to hate them for taking my money and not providing the service i am paying for. I would be greatful for any advice on how to get this sorted.
Welcome to BT Retail's Community Forum.
To help us find the problem with your connection please may you see the following steps below:
1) Are you connected by master or test socket?.
2) Can you please run a BT speed test http://speedtester.bt.com (not beta version)
3) is there any noise on your line. dial 17070 option2 from landline. should be silent but slight hum normal on cordless phone.
4) please post adsl line statistics
ADSL Line Statistic Help:
If you have a BT Home Hub like the one below...
2) click Settings
3) Click Advanced Settings
4) Click Broadband
5) Click Connection or sometimes called ADSL (see picture Below)
The direct Address is http://bthomehub.home/index.cgi?active_page=9116 (for bthomehub3)
If your master socket looks like this
Then please could you plug your home hub into the "test" socket shown here
Then leave it plugged in for at least 30 minutes, and display your ADSL Statistics on one of your messages.
Keith I am at my wits end now. there seems to be no fault or problem on the line i sopke to bt today and he said to try a cable to the tv wich i tried and its no better, its no better with the router plugged into the master socket either. My music is directly connected to the router by cable. any ideas as to what could be the problem?
Keith yes those are hte readings take when it plugged into the test soket. althought i have a fast speed the service is slow and nothing i stream into the house works my music through my Sonos system sometimes palys thetrack but then stops and displays a message about the connection to rhapsody being lost this is the new name for napster streaming service. love film constantly buffers. internet takes longer to laod pages too.
My sonos was wired to the router, my televsion was wireless but a tried a cable and it was no different, my Sonos,
hub, and television are within 3 feet of each other.
