Intermittent

Hi

My broadband has been playing up fro about 3 months now. I've had 2 line faults in this time also. The problem is I have bt vision, Love Film, and my music comes through Sonos. It's so slow now i cant even play music through my Sonos via Napster, when i try to watch a movie on love film it keeps buffering. Phone lines ok. This has been going on for 3 months off and on. i have phoned bt but keep getting india and they seem very keen to blame the filters. I phoned them again tonight and she went throught the same things again then she said she would hang up and phone back when she'd investigated more and done more lines checks, this was more than 2 hours ago. I used to brag to my friends how good bt was now i am begining to hate them for taking my money and not providing the service i am paying for. I would be greatful for any advice on how to get this sorted.

2) Can you please run a BT speed test http://speedtester.bt.com (not beta version)
3) is there any noise on your line. dial 17070 option2 from landline. should be silent but slight hum normal on cordless phone.
4) please post adsl line statistics

Re: Intermittent

If your master socket looks like this

Then please could you plug your home hub into the "test" socket shown here

Then leave it plugged in for at least 30 minutes, and display your ADSL Statistics on one of your messages.

Thanks

Re: Intermittent router stats

Keith I am at my wits end now. there seems to be no fault or problem on the line i sopke to bt today and he said to try a cable to the tv wich i tried and its no better, its no better with the router plugged into the master socket either. My music is directly connected to the router by cable. any ideas as to what could be the problem?

Re: Intermittent router stats

Your noise margin is higher than normal default of 6dB this will have some affect on your connection speed are you now connected to the test socket

Re: Intermittent router stats

having a hub that close to a TV is not reccomended as a TV can be a major source of interference to a broadband connection
