Hi,
I rang about BT Plus this afternoon and the guy I spoke to said nothing about my exisiting doscount being carried forward for my broadband, he just quoted the £39.99 price.
My Broadband contract expires in May 2019 and I get £18.50 discount currently. Are you saying this should be discounted from the £39.99 until May 2019? if so, I will ring them again.

Yep.
So to triple check as I wasn't getting anywhere on chat I called the 0800 800 150 number again and spoke to Ben in Connections who has done some digging and confirmed that my reading of the text is correct. So for my deal/service this means:
- By upgrading I am signing up for a minimum term of 18 months at £39.99
- The discount I had on my original broadband deal will be applied to the above for the length of the original contract (16 months)
- For the final 2 months I will pay £39.99
- From month 19 I pay whatever the full price is at that point or recontract/negotiate
He suspects that the ordering system just sees the upgrade as a re-contract and my carried forward discount/deal will not show until the order is complete and the first bill produced.
If it doesn't get applied he has left all the notes and validated the above with his manager, so I can just call them at that point fix it.
He also said the BT Plus team are inundated at the moment so bare with them if trying to get through and he has fed back my particular concerns about the carried forward discount not showing on the new order confirmation.
I hope the rest of you can resolve your particular issues.

And the wording in the terms and conditions is totally misleading and wrong for current customers who are on a fibre package. No account has been taken of us in the wording of the upgrade. It makes it sound at though we pay no more until the 19th month. From the get go it's costing £54.99 per month and then from the 19th month it increases to £58.99 a month! Come on BT get your act together!!
I just spoke to them and the answer to that is no. They expect us to start paying 54.99 a moth. They crazy
Er - I just received an email saying superfast fibre plus is in my area. I dont suppose for one little minute it is about fibre to the home is it? Presently I can just get 56 mbp which has dropped to 53

It sounds like you're in a bit of a grey area, either you're getting a very good speed for what used to be infinity 1 or you're getting a poor speed for what was infinity 2.

I can only tell you what they told me and on the first call that was they agreed the wording means the existing discount should carry forward but they cannot see anything on their systems currently so I should order online.
I did, no discount carried forward, so that's why on the second call I got them to triple check the meaning of the wording in the online order, double check with another line manager and then add notes on my account that my current broadband discount should be carried forward and that once the first bill is produced, if it hasn't they will have to find a way to apply it.
I've got to be honest, I couldn't believe that wording is in the order process and the discount would carry forward, which is why I was so keen to double check with UK based managers and get notes added to my account.
But I have been told twice now I am correct, but nothing will show until the re-contract is complete and the first bill produced.
This is either a stunning deal to lock people in for a decent period or a mistake, either way, I'm taking advantage!
If you didn't take screenshots online when ordering, here are mine. The same wording 4 times:
Superfast Fibre is the new name for infinity... UltraFast for the G.fast/FTTP lol
I also got excited considering I have a G.fast pod at the end of the street but no...

@SRT, @Anonymous
In the online quote you are given a speed estimate ranging between upper and lower limits (with careful covering statements relating to congestion, etc).
Somehow I can’t see an engineer visit, also mentioned in the quote, can achieve a big improvement.
I’ve had improvements over the past two years, but speed is still fluctuating. Can’t really see that an increase of 7 Mbps will be noticed, though, even though it would be good to see a real improvement up to 76 Mbps which I had in the first two months after install.
