Introducing BT Plus!

Reading these comments reminds me of the so called free infinity 1 upgrade late last year. It's another BT shambles that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Heh - grey is right and yes I started out with infinity 1 which was following an original infinity 2 connection that turned out to be ***EDITED*** and I "downgraded"  to the present which was as someone pointed out "free speed boosted" in October last year but tbh I had faster prior to that but this new thing "ultrafast"?  Is it worth it as I dont think the line I have will ever improve without proper fibre to the home and I think that about sums bt up as they arent really doing owt  else to improve matters. From what I can see its all hype without genuine changes to the infrastructure.

I'm guessing that BT wouldn't be so daft as to sell you a product that they couldn't supply you with but for peace of mind you can check availability in your area here

Yes, it would be nice to get fttp, or Ultrafast included in the BT Plus upgrade at no extra cost.

BT Plus is primarily backing up your existing service, by utilising 4g in the event of a failure.

If it’s available in your area, let us know of the quoted cost for Ultrafast in the BT Plus upgrade.

In the existing upgrade to BT Plus, for Superfast Broadband version: things are looking up!
Mobile data allowance is already doubled. It's a case of waiting for the final contract details for the upgrade to appear in My BT. These details are due to appear today.

I don't understand what is being offered.  My speeds can't increase, what is added under Plus?

It's mainly increased support. If you have BT mobile your data is doubled, unlimited if your broadband goes down and they'll send you a hub that runs off 4G while they get you back up and running. Personally I think changing the names of fibre packages at the same time as launching BT Plus is just going to cause confusion, but maybe that's the lure.

It would be no good for me though, a 2G signal would be useful to have at my house, 4G is just a dream.

As I’ve said before it’s like having one of those premium bank accounts. Pay a few quid extra and you get some additional benefits. Cutting out all the blurb...

plus offers it’s customers 

* The fastest broadband 

* A back up service when your broadband fails, switching on unlimited data if your a BT mobile customer within 1 hour and or sending a 4G dongle

* Price freeze for 18 months 

* all calls go to a UK/ie call centre  

and if your are a BT mobile customer 

* double data each month for all the mobile on the same BT account 

* and the fastes 4G on all the mobiles on your account. 

Plus won’t be for everyone but if you occasionally say go over your data on your mobile and pay a fiver then the double data makes it worth this. It’s just another choice you have to make

Are you suggesting that BT Plus is only a fiver @Dean007? I haven't seen that anywhere myself.

Also if you scroll to the bottom of this https://www.productsandservices.bt.com/broadband/plus/bundles-ec/

it says "We may change any prices and terms during your contract. If this affects you, we'll tell you about important changes in advance, and you'll be able to end your contract without any fees."

That doesn't exactly sound like a price freeze to me.
