Slow LAN file transfer using the SH2 v0.12.02.11078-BT.
I regularly sync my files and folders between my laptop (Dell 7773) and my desktop (Dell XPS8700). The transfer has significantly slowed down when using the SH2. For the purposes of testing I removed the Disc and used only the Smart Hubs in the same room as the laptop and desktop. I am using EasySync. I set the same SSID and password on both for a quick changeover.
Laptop (WiFi) -> SH (6A) -> Desktop (Ethernet) = 42 seconds.
Laptop (WiFi) -> SH2 -> Desktop (Ethernet) = 2 minutes 39 seconds.
Laptop (WiFi) -> SH (6A) -> Desktop (Ethernet) = 41 seconds.
Laptop (WiFi) -> SH2 -> Desktop (Ethernet) = 2 minutes 43 seconds.

Well I have been messing about for a week now and I cannot seem to get my wifi to work as good as the SmartHub 1. The range with the discs is better but sitting connected to my synology nas in my living room about 7 feet from my SH2 the video is buffering on the wireless connection. This never happened on my SH1 am I doing somthing wrong.
Things I have tried
1. Turned off smart channels on SH2
2. Rebooted my Mac, SH2 and my Nas
3. Deleted my Network profile on my Mac and set it back up again.
I am convinced that it is the SH2 as the SH1 always reached download speeds of 61-65MB with SH2 the download speed ranges from 37-64MB. This is using OKLA Broadband Speed Test. The speed test to the hub using BT app shows 65MB download speed. If that is correct then it appears to be my wifi has reduced on the SH1.
Any ideas other than going back to the old SH how to rectify this?
Thanks MN
@BrunoN or @LukeBuxton can you help?

I wonder if you could help me? I have had the complete wifi package for just over a week. During that time I have noticed a reduction in my wifi speed. Previously I would get download speeds to my mac book pro of 61-65mb. Since I changed from my SH1 to SH2 and complete wifi this speed has dropped to between 28 - 60 mb.
Though I am not fussed about the speed but I do have a Synology Nas which was able to push HD video over my network without a problem with my SH1. Now I get a lot of buffering?
The great variation in speed I believe is that the SH2 connecting to my mac with the 2.4ghz channel and not the 5Ghz this is because if I disconnect my wifi and then reconnect the wifi "sometimes" jumps to the higher speeds.
Using the discs have solved the wifi black spots to the detriment of my network speed. It may be that I am not doing somthing I should have but there seems to be another problem of who to turn to for help?
I tried to contact someone via your chat facility but realised that was not great when the person I was chatting to insisted I could split the 2.4 and 5 ghz channels on my SH2?
At an extra £5 a month for the disc rental I thought the support would be premium?
Hi @malnichol Sorry you are experiencing a problem with your complete Wifi package.
I've sent you a Private message explaining how you can contact the forum moderation team and we will be happy to help you with this.

Hi @malnichol
I've picked up your case this evening and I've opened an investigation.
I will be in touch tomorrow to discuss.
Thanks
Stuart
Thanks
Stuart as discussed I have moved the disc to the livingroom and connected my MBP to it the download speed there is the full 65mb with 19mb upload. The LAN link rate has shot up to 1300mbps? The Nas video back to how it was with no buffering.
Only problem is that the disc is now within about 10Ft from the SH2 and it took quite a bit messing to get the MBP to connect tyo the disc rather than the SH2.
Thanks
I love this thing, I have ultra fast plus 2, i get 294mbps download and 49mbps upload. When im next to the router. Upstairs I get 70-80mbps wireless when connected to the hub. I asked for complete wifi, now I get 170+ on wifi which is awesome, but I only use wifi for my phone and surface pro. What ive done which works perfectly is...
I bought a 1gbps 8 port switch and a few ethernet cables, connected the switch to the disc and boom, between 230-275mbps wired (but really wireless).
I love it, thank you BT (9 years ago I was on 0.5mbps). I do have a question though, when I use the app, I put the disc in the excellent postion using the locator test, I get more or less max speeds, but the connection is aways good, I bet if it was excellent I would get max speeds using my hack.

Re point 1 your sky set up is exactly the same as mine was.
1) sky won't connect to bt at anything other than 2.4, disabling the 5ghz connection makes no difference.
2) take out the sky q repeater and just let the discs do their job over the 2.4ghz wifi, trying to split the channels doesn't work either, sky only works 3 channels looking at the engineer menu.
@alennox1979 @Oemoore64 Have had loads of issues with Sky Q dropping out last week, but seems to have stabalised by doing the following after reading lots of similar issues:
1) Disabled the 2.4ghz on Sky Q (so opposite of what you said)
2) Switching the 5ghz to channel 48 on the BT SH2
Not sure in all honesty which worked or why but has gone from dropping every few hours to being stable for past few days so will see how that goes.
