Is it normal for connection to be unusable during first 10 days learning?

Hi,

Moved into new house and had HH3 delivered on 8th (no broadband light) Engineer came on 15th and actually connected line to broadband at exchange.

Since then, most of the time the broadband is unusable (so many errors that hardley any good packets arrive) this is when the Noise margin is below 6dB (which is most of the time during the day) when the Noise margin is above 6dB then the errors go away and I have a functioning connection (but this is only very early in the morning or very late at night)

Is this normal?

Shouldn't the learning system look at the error rates and modify the connection to improve the connection?

Also on HH3 are the Error Seconds really Error tenths of seconds as this value would be longer than the connection time if seconds.

Re: Is it normal for connection to be unusable during first 10 days learning?

unless you are a gamer the I would request that you are changed fron 'fast' to 'interleaved' which should make your connection more stable  contact the mods via this link  http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951

I thought 21CN would have changed automatically seeing the error problem

Even if you are a gamer, you should find that your connection becomes a lot more stable if switched to Interleaved.  I can't think why it's currently set to Fast.

If it were interleaved, most of the CRC errors would become FEC errors, which are silently fixed by the router.
