Is it normal or is something wrong with my connection or HUb?

Hi.

Is it normal that the speed jumps from 800KB/s to 56KB/s when I download at this same time large file from one server?

Or is smashing wrong with my speed (connection) or Hub (ver.A)

Re: Is it normal or is something wrong with my connection or HUb?

can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to show detail to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z) and run btspeedtester http://speedtester.bt.com and post the results. Someone may then be able to offer assistance

Re: Is it normal or is something wrong with my connection or HUb?

Thanks for reply:)

Bottom I paste speed test result and ADSL stat.

Jumping speed is very irritating. When I download large files (more then 100MB per file) from rapidshare speed show in FlasGet jumping from 800KB/s to 56KB/s sometimes is 124, 530, 170 etc... Is very unstable.

Before I been with VM (cable area) and speed was very stabile. Jumping from 1180KB/s to 1010KB/s sometimes 970KB/s but not to 120 or below 100KB/s.

That I ask in ADSL is normal? Or is something wrong with my line/equipment.

Thanks.

Re: Is it normal or is something wrong with my connection or HUb?

your profile is a bit low for your speed as I would expect 9000 not 8000 but if you maintain connection this should change on it's own.  The speed at which you download can change from site to site as many restrict the download speed as their servers cannot handle every user downloading at their max speed.

Re: Is it normal or is something wrong with my connection or HUb?

The "information superhighway" suffers from traffic jams from time to time just like real roads.  There's no guarantee that the speed at which you can download from a web site somewhere else in the World will be fast or consistent.

Re: Is it normal or is something wrong with my connection or HUb?

I don't think is problem with other sever, be cous I used rapidshare for more then 3 years, and always I get max my speed. Is not different in BT, but in BT speed is very unstable.

So I just wonder it is connection problem with my exchange or equipment I have.
