Is it worth me paying for Infinity 2?

Please can anyone advise me whether I would get worse speeds on Infinity 1 than these. I am 700 metres from my Cabinet.

Here's my test results.

Hope someone can help!

Re: Is it worth me paying for Infinity 2?

The only difference between Infinity 1 and Infinity 2 is that 1 has a cap at 40 Mbps down and 10Mbps up. Infinity 2 has a cap at 80 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up. As you're nowhere near the cap, there would be no difference.

However, it does look like DLM has been active on your connection. How long have you had Infinity?

Re: Is it worth me paying for Infinity 2?

I've had it about 2 years now, and my speed is about 5mbs slower than when I first had it. I did buy a HH5 about six months ago. What is DLM?

Re: Is it worth me paying for Infinity 2?

Dynamic Line Management (DLM) is an automatic monitoring system that counts errors and disconnections on your connection and changes the line parameters to achieve stability.

The line parameters include changing the SNR margin and changing the rate of interleaving.

I notice from your line stats you had a connection time of 31 minutes. Did you disconnect on purpose?

Re: Is it worth me paying for Infinity 2?

Thanks for all the info Ray. Yes, I reset the HH5 because it said to do that before doing the speed test. I think I'll be in touch with BT tomorrow to "downgrade" to Infinity 1, and save myself £3 per month.

Looking at the stats you've posted Infinity 2 is a waste of time and money for you.

Re: Is it worth me paying for Infinity 2?

BTW, do people who get 50mbs upwards live on top of the cabinets? lol

My cab is at the end of my road about 150-200m away

Re: Is it worth me paying for Infinity 2?

No, they just have better lines. I had no problem with speeds when on Infinity 1.
