Is there anyway to improve upload speeds

AFB91280-40E9-48A7-A854-DC2D91412961.jpeg

 hi is there anyway to improve the upload speed, for live streaming etc. The speed is the same across all devices and wired and wireless. Have 2 discs and the Bt smart hub 2 the streaming is terrible, we have fibre to the property currently. Is an aftermarket router a possible improvement. I know we don’t have a guarantee for upload with bt and I can’t see online an advertised upload unlike virgin who offers different UL speeds

Re: Is there anyway to improve upload speeds

@Andrewbrown

Upload speed is dependent on the ability of your phone line to carry high frequencies, as that is where the majority of the upload bandwidth is allocated.

Every line is different, depending on the type and thickness of the cable.

In order to find out what services and speed range you should be getting, please enter your phone number into this form.
Broadband availability checker

Please remember to edit out your phone number before you post the results.

Can you also display your connection information.

If you are using the BT Smart hub you can get your connection stats by, Opening a new web browser on your connected device and type 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home into the address bar. This will open the Hub Manager.  Click Advanced Settings’ and then ‘Technical log’

@Keith_Beddoe The OP says he's on FTTP so would need to ring the FTTP team on 0800 587 4787.

@pippincp Thanks, I must have missed that, as I assumed FTTP uploads speeds would not be so low.
