I have had an issue on both my iphones today (using IOS 13.2.3 - current latest version installed earlier this week) when trying to access my btinternet email using either the outlook or the native mail app
It works fine through a web browser pointing at www.bt.com/email but otherwise just fails stating its "Unable to log in" with invalid IMAP username or password. Has something changed for those with talk21.com email accounts that I'm not aware of?
Incoming Mail Server: mail.btinternet.com:993 (993 being the port)
Username: xxx@talk21.com (xxx is obviously replaced with my username as usual)
Password: my password which I use to login at www.bt.com/email
SMTP settings
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.btinternet.com:465 (465 being the port)
Username: xxx@talk21.com (xxx is obviously replaced with my username as usual)
Password: my password which I use to login at www.bt.com/email

It still doesn't work even if i use my username as xxx.t21@btinternet.com. I've deleted the original account from my mail app (which was working until 5.23 this morning) and tried to add it using your method for both username and email account. It comes up with the same error.

Ive also tried changing the details so the username is xxx.t21@btinternet.com - this also doesnt work.
I also then tried (in desperation) trying the yahoo settings as previously posted above.

noting the other threads - theres something fishy going on over the past couple of days. whether its the link between yahoo and btinternet or something more sinister Im not sure of at the moment.
Either way, its affected a number of us who are trying to access the emails, generally via apple devices, generally mobile and generally using outlook or the inbuilt mail app.

Hi.
If webmail works, then there is nothing wrong with the account password - just access via an app or mail client. There are a vast amount of posts about this in general (though not relating to talk21 directly).
The usual thing to do is nothing, no password changes, no settings changes or app deletion/re-add or account deletion/re-add. Stop all devices from auto-checking and check one device every hour or so. This usually fixes itself from a few hours to a few days.
It is true there are a lot of posts relating to apple devices and/or outlook app - but this might be due to the prevalence of these devices/apps. However this issue will affect all devices/apps trying to access via IMAP or POP3.
