Just switched to Fibre and internet speeds are worse!

I have no idea where the cabinet is. It certainly isn't on my road.

I am definitely going to call and see what they say. Fibre has only been available to my road in the last couple of weeks so I am probably the first to sign up as I know most of my neighbours have satalite broadband.

as you can see the cabinet shown on your dslchecker results has been fibre enabled for 4 yrs. maybe it has had the capacity increased recently

I really don't understand why you have been told fibre has just been made available, as I said, cabinet 7 has been enabled since 2014. If you are connected to it, nothing has changed since then. Have a look around Mentmore and see if you can see 2 green cabinets close to each other with a number 7 painted on one of them.

Edit: @imjolly could have a reason if the cabinet was previously full.

Thank you for your replies. I have phoned customer services and they have done some checks and have found there is 'a miss match of information' being returned so they are getting an engineer to investigate. Hopefully it gets resolved.

Unfortunately, I supect that means the checker is wrong and you are too far from the cabinet to get a sensible speed.

Did you locate where the cabinet is?

Not yet. I will probably take a drive today. That does not surprise me.

The only cabinet I could find is a single green cabinet which looked quite old. It had a couple of man hole covers in front of it. Thinking about it I'm pretty sure even the village hall in mentmore uses satalite broadband which they had installed last year due to the lack of internet speeds. It's looking like satalite is the way to go!

cab is supposed to be at p[ost code  LU7 0QE   I know from my own cab that is not quite accurate just in right neighbourhood

If there is no cabinet within about 3Km or so by road from your house you are beyond the range of FTTC service.
