Re: Kindle says it can connect to my Hub but not the internet contact my ISP

Go to solution

I know which connection is my home hub. Besides it being on the card on the hub its the only BT one in the area. Most people are sky within connecting distance.

Reseting my Kindle worked which is why I suggested it.

However there are lots of general problems with the Amazon site so perhaps when these are sorted out everything will be back to normal.

A lot of people with various different BT broadband routers/hubs on Amazon Kindle help are having problem connecting and loads of folk with other ISPs are saying they aren't having a problem. Its not just me but a common BT only problem.

Is it possible to change DNS servers on a kindle, if so try 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

After my latest restart of my kindle (one of the suggestions on kindle community I'd tried an it hadn't helped) I was able to re put in my wi fi lo on details and it actually connect. It seems it was some sort of temporary problem or somebody somewhere has fixed something and now it works.

It's been a widespread problem that's driven me nuts all day. It's not just the kindle Amazon prime video wasn't working either - seemed a BT problem as connected via my phone (tethering) worked just fine

[RESOLVED] DNS problems for end users on British Telecom ISP in the UK
    less

5:33 AM PDT We are investigating connectivity problems between CloudFront and end users on certain ISPs in the UK.
6:17 AM PDT We can confirm that end users using a single ISP in the UK are experiencing connectivity problems when trying to reach CloudFront. We are working to resolve this issue.
7:04 AM PDT End users using a single ISP, British Telecom, in the UK are experiencing failures when resolving cloudfront.net domain names. We are working with the ISP to resolve this issue. As a workaround, end users can change their resolvers to use a public DNS resolver and successfully resolve cloudfront.net names.
10:10 AM PDT Between 3:07 AM and 9:41 AM PDT, end users using a single ISP, British Telecom, in the UK experienced failures when resolving cloudfront.net domain names. The issue has now been resolved and the service is operating normally.
