Known Routers to Work with Multicast/IGMP

We have previously had a thread which listed some routers that would not work with multicast/igmp on BT Infinity, so have decided to create a thread of devices we now know work with the service.

  • BT HomeHub 3 and 4 - Automatically enabled (no option to enable/disable feature)
  • Asus RT-N66U - You must configure 'Enable VPN + DHCP Connection' to 'No' under the WAN option.
  • TP-Link TL-WR1043ND - Automatically enabled (no option to enable/disable feature)
  • TP-Link Archer C7 - Automatically enabled (can enable/disable feature)
  • Billion 7800N - Requires profile (Pure Bridge) to the EWAN port along with the PPPoE profile. Also enable IGMP Proxy/Snooping
  • Billion 7800DXL - Probably requires profile configuring similar to the Billion 7800N
  • TP-Link TL-WDR4900 N900 - Automatically enabled
  • TP-Link WDR4300 N750 - Automatically enabled

thanks go to the following members who have helped in testing their equipment to see if it works

TimCurtis, zarf2007aseymourcactusbobRed_Snowsepph

If we find which other routers work, lets add them to this thread

regards

Walkerx

Great thread and good information to consolidate. Perhaps the mods should "sticky" this one.

Cheers, Mark

Can a mod please make this a sticky. Can the first post also be made editable when we want to add more working devices

Re: Known Routers to Work with Multicast/IGMP

Walkerx,

Would it help if I added it to my website, as I can easily add more if someone updates me?

I have done this before, for the home hub 3.

As its unsupported by BT, the mods would not be able to add it as a sticky.

I will copy the info you have provided, including the acknowledgements, and post the link on this thread later.

Just refer people to the link, if it helps. Please let me know of any updates. You can use the PM facility if you wish, and I will update the page when I get a moment.

Its hosted locally, so its easy to edit.
