Landline - handsets show "new message". Why and how to stop?
For many months, if a call is recorded while the answerphone is switched on, or no message is left, each handset shows "1 (or 2) new message(s).
To delete, I have been resetting each handset, which wipes out current date and time on the answerphone, so I have also been resetting time and date.
I have already approached BT for help, but they simply gave me to a telephone number which is costly to use.
Is there any way I can sort this out once and for all?
