After disconnecting my laptop from the home hub it doesn't want to reconnect.
I get a yellow exclamation mark and also shows a red cross between the hub and the internet. i have tried restarting the home hub and also removing the laptop
from the list of devices in the home hub settings with no luck. I am stuck on what to do next.
Help is appreciated 🙂
If you click on the red cross, Windows will start a diagnostic and attempt to remake the connection for you.
Try a factory reset of the homehub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds.
If that doesn't work:
How was your laptop connected to your Homehub?
What homehub do you have?
Have you tried restarting the laptop?
Go into network and sharing centre > manage wireless connections > Highlight your homehub connection > Click "remove." Rescan and re connect to the homehub by using the wireless passkey on the homehub.
If that doesn't work try the following.
Do you have another device such as a mobile phone or other laptop to see if it connects to the homehub by wireless. This will help rule out the homehub being the problem.
Do you have an Ethernet cable to see if the laptop will connect to the homehub by cable this would narrow the problem down to the wireless card.
Ok tried that but i'm still getting the limited/no connectivity exclamation mark.
I have a phone that is connected wirelessly and it's working fine.
Have you tried connecting by Ethernet cable?
You could try reinstalling the network card incase it has become corrupted. Go to Start > Control Panel > Device Manager > Network Adaptors > Right click on your wireless adaptor > Uninstall. Once you have uninstalled it, restart our laptop and Windows will find and reinstall the network card. Remake the wireless connection.
