Last 3 days broadband has been slow.

 The speed has decreased dramatically over the last 3 days.

 

I did a speedtest as instructed on here. Results.

 

Download speedachieved during the test was - 171 Kbps
 For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 2000-7150 Kbps.
 Additional Information:
 Your DSL Connection Rate :460 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 444 Kbps(UP-STREAM)

Can someone also link me to the BT BB help line so I can talk to someone about this? All the advice on the website end with "contact your ISP if you need further help" but it doesn't provide any numbers or any links to numbers.

before you phone the one thing they will ask is if you have the router connected to the test socket?

 

have you tried the quiet line test  dial 17070 option 2  should be quiet - best done in master socket with corded phone

Does the quite line test and heard nothing.

 

Guess that is good. But also bad as the line is ok so now what?

have you connected router to the test socket behind bottom half of master socket?

Right well, I phone the number. After 30mins of going through options and opitons and options. I finally got through an adviser who was very helpful. Said there was something wrong with my line and should be recifly within 24hours.

 

Fingers cross it does.

BTW is there a way to see where my nearest exchange is? Or where the exchanges are located around my area?

The easiest way is to use the 'Exchange search' on SamKnows: 

 

http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search

 

Put your phone number in there and it will let you know your exchange and other stuff.
