Re: Latency change to Fast request

you have posted on adsl board but actually have a vdsl connection.  although mods can change latency on adsl they cannot make that change on vdsl

I moved your post to correct board

Re: Latency change to Fast request

Thank you for your reply and sorry about the wrong section. My latency has been changed already after 2+ of a solid stable line (no disconnections or drops and about 10-30 crc per day)  and the ping increased 3x times. I assume that's happen because DLM got a wrong decision to change the latency type. So the question is what we can do about this?

Re: Latency change to Fast request

from the stats your connection looks ok with connection speed about attainable.  you would need an engineer visit to fix a fault and then reset the DLM but as your connection is ok then that will be a problem as there does not appear to be a fault with your connection   you won't get a DLM reset just for a change of latency

Re: Latency change to Fast request

Thats my surprise, there is no fault on the line (its complete error free), and also the  attainable rate is 23.798 Mbps  up and 77.142 Mbps down with (almost) no errors.  Even with this stats, DLM deside to "downgrade" my line to 64mbps download with inderleaved profile. Looks like the DLM is not as smart as they claim and it has a realy aggresive approach on the line management (eg if you restart 10 times the router, the line will automaticaly downgraded, or if the snr drop less than 5 after 25 days uptime will downgrade the line). I have try to explain to the telephone support all that but, sadly, they dont even know what is latency or fast/interleaved ...

Now about this issue, Is there any chanse that DLM will revert the change in future or it will permament "ban" the fast profile. That  was the key point to move to BT from talktalk (I had spoke with the sales and they ensure me that BT is by far better from any other provider)?

Re: Latency change to Fast request

which exchange and cab are you on?  find it here by entering phone number  https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome

from other forum posts it appears that once your latency is changed by DLM to interleaved then it does not move back to fast unless you get a DLM reset  if your line has stability problems of errors or both then DLM will take action again

your stats don't show DSL connection time

Re: Latency change to Fast request

My uptime today was 3d 14h and then I've made a restart (before I post here) to check if there will be any improvement (and there wasn't)

Please allow me to provide some details. I had (even without this) 20up and 79.999 down for four months, stable without errors with talk talk. Then an issue with the main socket cause a tone of disconnections per hour (about a disconnection per 5min). The failed socked has been replaced (along with the cable from the house entrance till the socket) and since that day, the line never restored to the previous values. This was the reason to move to BT.  At the beginning (after the trial 10 days period and a complaint), I had 20/70 with ping 10ms for 2 months with no significant errors or disconnections (I had restart the router about 6 times within 2 months and that was only because of changes I had to make) which was great.... until DLM decide with no reason to "degrade" my line. Telephone support not even bother to discuss it, so sadly my options are the forum, another complaint, pay for an engineer to reset the line or (even worst to my case) leave with that...

Re: Latency change to Fast request

this is a customer help customer forum so if you want to leave and pay cancellation fees then that is up to you

you will not get an engineer visit just to do DLM reset
