Trying to pin this down. I understand there is an option to keep the email address as a basic web only option?
Is there a way to check this please?
I do not want the premium monthly charge. If the mail address is lost, so be it. Just that I am reading a few answers with differing info.

When you leave BT your email address will revert to Basic Mail which is a web only service automatically unless you request the Premium mail service. Previously you would only have had the choice of Premium Mail or losing the address.
Is there a way to see this confirmed on my accounts page or terms? I have searched but probably not using the right questions.
My account page warns me it is going to cease and everything deleted, hence the confusion when I read answers here.
All my contacts, bank etc. have been updated to the new address. Everything copied and inbox empty etc.
Looks like the auto take over from another firm may have upset it a bit.
all clear now.
