Line Fault Possible Scam?

Today i got 2 texts from BT giving me a fault tracking reference no. for the fault reported on my landline BUT there is no fault and I hadn't reported one....BUT I have had 3 calls recently on the landline from Indian sounding men called George or Dave. All of them knew my name and all told me I had a problem with the BT line and broadband router - which I don't .
Now they must have reported a fault on my behalf to convince me next time they ring to REMOTELY CONTROL my PC.....not!
Anyone else had these calls from Indian Fred?? TIP After the call ring 1572 to block that number in future.
