Line speed is less than i should be getting ??

Go to solution

Long story short

I've had Infinty for a number of years , was never getting the max speed and been around 50 meg or so, recently it went up to 63 meg but now its dropped down to 40 meg

Ive recently got rid of the Home Hub due to the constant disconnects  which was getting unbearable

Do these line stats look normal or should i be getting more ??Screenshot (1).png

The constant disconnects have invoked the wrath of DLM, your line is banded at 40M. You will need a period of stability for DLM to restore your speed to the 59M your line is capable of. Are you sure it was the hub causing the problem and not a line fault?

Connection time is due to switching routers
The phone socket is already filtered as it has a seperate slot for the router line and one for the phone line
Quiet test seemed ok

You should still try using the test socket with a filter as this will eliminate your internal wiring and also a faulty faceplate.

When in test socket you should check there is no dial tone ar any extension socket whether in use or not

Had a look last night and didn't see an actual test socket in there, thought there may not be one as the router line is already micro filtered as it's a master socket with 2 sockets. Will have a look later on today
Another question is it worth giving BT a call and asking if the have used DLM on my line and can remove it ??
Thanks for the help so far and putting up with my questions

the test socket is here  you need to remove the centre plate with yellow arrow

if new master then unclip the front and test socket now visible

you cannot disable the DLM
