Isn’t that a bit over the top? Refresh removes all your addons when you only needed to disable one of them - McAfee WebAdvisor.
I have had the same problem when trying to log on to emails on my desktop. I have tried chrome and edge, reset my password but to no avail! I can log on on my iPad and iPhone. I phoned up BT help and the guy took me through everything again, said he would have to get extra technical help and would phone me back today - which he never did! I contacted the help again and a different guy asked me to log on on my iPad via safari, which I was able to do. So he said it was nothing to do with them and must be my desktop! Not helpful at all!
I do not have broadband or any other services with BT and have received an email saying I will now have to pay for the email service. (Like many people I have had my email via BT for many years). They said I would have to register with MyBT in order to manage my account so I did - but now can't log on to that either and get the same message!
I don't feel BT care a damn!
I don't use McAfee WebAdviser.
Wonder if you had some other addon that did similar filtering maybe using the same list as McAfee.
I only use three Add-ons... Adblock Plus... Auto Sort Bookmarks and Zoom Page WE, I have reinstalled them all with no problems and BT Email is now working fine.
I have the same problem. I cannot log in via firefox browser but I can on my android mobile phone. Why can this not be fixed??
I posted what worked for me on page 7 of this thread.
I have just updated my browser (chrome) and can now log on!
Thanks. I'll try it. Maybe it's McAfee that's the problem?
I've had simiar problems on my Desktop since yesterday. I'm using Windows 10 and Firefox.
My iPhone, however, seems to be able to login quite happily.
I had a similar problem a few months ago. I ended up changing the password (using the Forgot Login Details option on the login page). A bit of a pain though. As one of the other contributors has posted you'd think BT would at least investigate it as it seems to be affecting a lot of users.
