Re: Logging in to email problems

This problem is spreading faster than COVID!!!!!

apple iphone.

got locked out of the BT app had to create a new password -all done  app works

BUT

must change the password to sign in for email ; won’t allow me to do that as all created in the days of yahoo.

The advice is to delete the account and the install.     Apple warns when you , do to that it will delete all your contacts from the phone ....1100 of them!!!!   And less importantly  dates

Backing up creates a whole set of new issues with Apple.

is this delete account and re Load the only option?

the advice also suggests there are other issues with Apple phones...         help. Shouldn’t be that difficult???

Re: Logging in to email problems

Once I had finally reset my password on desk top I then had to reset on my iPads. Deleted accounts from iPads and then re installed and all was ok, all my emails appeared and my contacts are still there. Not sure if the Apple iPad is different to the phone though

Re: Logging in to email problems

Sort of solved the problem

JOLLY gave answer for something similar , and I just tried that.

On iPhone, create new account for me @ btInternet , same address, seems to keep contacts and works on iPad , still fighting with iPhone

perhaps sage jolly can revisit this thread .... and give a proper answer

Unable to sign in to my emails. Keep being told to check my username and password are correct.

For the past two days, every time I try to sign in to my emails this message appears, "Please check you entered your username and password correctly and try again."  This information is remembered in my signing in process and was correct three days ago.  I have tried entering a new password but it has made no difference.  Have gone through the broadband checks (phone call, hub off and on, landline etc) but still cannot get into my emails.  Any ideas, please.

You are probably using Firefox? al lot of us have had this problem. You may find you can get in using Chrome. Problem seems to be related to the McAfee WebProtect add on, try disabling that and it may also solve the problem for you.

Re: Logging in to email problems

Is it a Firefox or McAfee or BT problem is the question.

Re: Logging in to email problems

Hi everyone,

We're sorry a small number of customers weren't able to log into their BT Mail with a Firefox browser.

There was a problem, which we've now fixed. Thanks for everyone who's taken the time to post about this issue, and thanks to your most recent posts confirming you're now able to get into your emails.

If anyone's still having problems, please install the latest McAfee software and let us know if it's now working for you.

Thanks,

Robbie
