Losing my patience now

Go to solution

Upto 20 mb broadband. But more realistically 6-8Meg I was told.

Joined this forum before my 14 days were up as the speed was really slow and received really good advice and help but advised to wait until the 14 days were concluded as the speed was still settling down.

Left it a bit longer and engaged in email coversation with a member of BT who took me through many things to sort my speed out.

At best I have 3MB and I achieved a whopping 1.1mb just now.  My neighbour(sky customer) ran the same test and got 6mb!

I am off to Citizens Advice this afternoon to see what I can do about leaving the contract, I have had enough!!

Download speedachieved during the test was - 1154 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
 Additional Information:
 Your DSL Connection Rate :3936 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 3000 Kbps

Hi Submariner, Can you also confirm what master socket you have and if you're connected to it?

Re: Losing my patience now

Can you please monitor for tonight, how stable the connection is and then if its stable tonight, post back tomorrow, and we'll take it from there, I want to see your connection stable on a 12dB Margin before we get it reset to 6dB and then the speed increased.  PLease note I do not work for BT, merely a customer like yourself.

Re: Losing my patience now

Profile has been reset more times than a thing that gets reset often.

Either through this forum or calls direct to BT themselves. It makes no difference BUT I will leave it and see what happens.

Thanks

hi submariner This is a customer to customer self help forum the only BT presence here are the forum moderators

You are on an up to 8mb service not up to 20 as your exchange has not yet been upgraded and you are currently connecting at 3.9mb once your noise margin reduces then your connection speed will improve as will your download speed if you follow the advice given here we will get your connection improved for you and if needed the forum we can get the forum mods involved
