Lost all BT Channels on 2 BT TV boxes

Go to solution

Currently have BT TV with the Sports package (BT Sports + Sky Sports) and working well for 5 months or so. Yesterday afternoon all my BT Channels (Sports+AMC) suddenly stopped working with the error IPC6023, saying problem with broadband. This happened at the same time on my 2 BT TV boxes which are seperately fed from the BT Router (one in living room, one in kitchen). I assumed therefore that the problem must be common components, the router or BT signal, so I factory reset the router but made no difference. Getting desperate I then reset both BT TV boxes and changed the cable between the boxes and the router, but no joy. I've now run out of ideas as to what to try next.

I connected with the BT online chat but they were less than helpful, so currently at a loss. I've seen this reported many times in the forums but not seen a solution. All the other apps I use on the BT box are still working normally (Netflix HD, Amazon Prime HD, BT Player, Now TV, etc), as well as Freeview. I even get the the programme guide ok.

Had BT TV for about 3 years and never had a problem previously. All the similar issues i've seen posted in forums usually refer to a few channels, a single box, or with powerline adaptors, but both my boxes are cabled.

Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.

Cheers

IPC6023 is such a common error that it's listed in the Help menu on your TV Box (Press the Help button on the remote control).

In a nutshell it means loss of multicast packets which is indeed caused by a network error but not necessarily in your home, it could be on the DSLAM in which case you will need the help of a mod ( e.g. @DarrenW is familiar with this fault).

Mini connectors can also be a cause of failure.
