MYVIEW T2100 - lost communication with channels/recordings

Go to solution

Help!

Does only one blue light showing on YOUVIEW box T2100 mean it's dead?

Had TV on this morning - as it's my company - then it lost sound and went into 'waking up mode'.  There was only one blue light showing on front of box rather than two. I found BT instruction book and followed those several times. At one point It connected to the Channel Guide but there were no programs showing. It allowed me to go on to my recordings page but said there was 'no information please wait awhile'

I'm afraid I'm not 'tech savvy'  but rather elderly and slow.  I will be very grateful for any help .

Many thanks and good health to you.

Try rebooting by holding down the power button on the top of the box. If it goes in a constant loop saying "waking up" it's probably a harddrive failure. If you have an active BT TV subscription, call faults and they'll send you a new one out

Thank you NigelB72, I'm afraid I have already gone through the constant 'waking up' loop early this morning when I was waking up with a cup of tea. I suppose i have lost all my recordings?! Well, at least I did not suffer a harddrive failure. You have a beautiful day and I hope you are enjoying the lovely sunshine in your part of the world. Thanks again.

If the hard drive is OK then you should be able to recover it, but how do you know it's OK?

You could try switching the box off either at the mains socket or by using the switch at the back (whichever's easiest) and leave it off for about 30 seconds then power it back up. If it starts up, then the hard drive is OK and hopefully everything, including your recordings, will be OK. If the light at the front goes dark red, and you hear a soft recurring clicking noise then the hard disk is faulty

Thank you V Meldrew.

I did talk to BT help who tried to help me via phone without luck and they say the will send me a new box.

I did try switching box a few times thank you but it came on blue with no clicking. I also managed to get into maintenance mode.  When I  press connect it says I have no internet connection although I have checked that a few times too and all the cabling which all seem fine.
It's all a mystery to me ---- like this nasty virus thing and why loo roll seems to be so popular. You keep safe now and thank you for your help.
