Major problem?

My internet is dead this morning and despite two power cycles the internet light on my home hub won't come on. I phoned 0800 111 4567 and it just said 'major problem, please call back later'. I'm on a friend's computer right now. What's going on? I've checked all connections and phone is working fine.
